The safety and well-being of our Guests and Team is our top priority

Blackcomb Springs Suites has taken every step possible to ensure the safety of our Team, Guests, and their pets, including the housekeeping department following revised, deeper cleaning and disinfecting protocols using Virox 5, a broad-spectrum virucide which has been included on Health Canada’s list of approved disinfectants to be used against emerging viral pathogens, including COVID-19 and canine parvovirus.

Our Continued Commitment to Your Safety
We recognize that the COVID-19 virus requires all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities. Guided by our purpose of care we have adjusted our processes to safeguard our Team and Guests. Our Team is working hard to ensure we meet the latest guidance from the industry on hygiene and cleaning. Our health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and cover everything from hand-washing hygiene, cleaning product specifications, frequency of sanitization, and common area cleaning procedures.

Guest Suites
Enhanced housekeeping procedures are in place. We have reduced the place settings and cookware in each Suite to match the maximum occupancy. As each Guest departs, every piece of kitchenware is put through the high-temperature dishwasher to ensure each item is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Used and unopened toiletries are discarded. TV remotes, telephones, common touch points, and all surfaces are treated with anti-viral compound. 

Housekeeping service during your stay is available on request only, and it must be arranged a day in advance through Guest Services by dialing “0”. Please note that Guests must vacant the Suite while the housekeeping Team cleans and disinfects it.

Cleaning of High Traffic Areas
Front doors, washroom doors, elevators, and all high traffic touch points are disinfected at regular intervals. 

Fitness Centre
Our fitness center will be open by appointment through Front Desk only. This allows our Team to disinfect properly after each Guest enters the fitness center.

Pool & Hot Tubs – Wet Area
Maximum amount of Guests in a group and in each body of water is observed in adherence to the Health Authorities orders. Guests are required to book access to the Wet Area in advance, using our online reservation system, which provides Guests with a 30-minute window for Hot Tub or a 45-minute window for the pool. Guests who have not had the opportunity to enjoy the Wet Area during their stay will have priority. Wet Area is open from 10 am to 10 pm, unless otherwise posted.

Team Members
Team Members must fill out a daily health questionnaire before entering the workplace. Any Team Member who has symptoms or who has traveled out of the Country is required to contact the Health Authorities immediately and to let us know the indications provided by the authorities. In case any of our Team Members has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, they are required to remain isolated for 14 days and to share the release letter from Vancouver Coastal Health. 

Our Team are hand washing constantly or whenever gloves are changed out. Gloves are changed after cleaning. Gloves are changed again as the Team Member leaves the Guest Suite. A second Team Member with new gloves then enters the Suite to inspect and finish disinfection. Our Team disinfects the guest room door handles multiple times throughout the day and into the evening. British Columbia Health Authorities also recommend our Guests frequently wash or sanitize their hands. 

As per British Columbia’s Provincial Health Officer, masks are required in all indoor public areas. Guests are required to observe maximum occupancy in elevators and to always stay within their bubble. Hand sanitizer is available in all elevator landings and in the lobby.
