Safer Stays At The Blackcomb Springs

Adapting to travel in 2021

Travel in 2021 under the day to day reality of COVID-19 will be much different from previous years. And whilst vaccines bring hope for later in the year the reality is that we must act in a way that keeps our bubbles small and reduces contact (especially indoors).

In Whistler, we are so fortunate to have an abundance of wide-open spaces from the ski hill to the lakes and trails that surround the resort. This post highlights some of the ways that the Blackcomb Springs Suites has adjusted its operations to provide a safer experience for your bubble.

Keep your bubble small

The days of a big communal buffet breakfast at the hotel are no more as the buzzword in British Columbia is to keep your bubble small. Each suite at the hotel has a full kitchen, dining area with table and chairs, and a sitting area with Sofa, Fireplace, and TV. Whilst expanded multi-family getaways are a no-go this winter, you can still get away with your immediate bubble whether that is your partner or family. Pets are welcome too so pack up your pooch and bring your bubble to our bubble.

Reduce Contact (especially indoors)

In response to COVID-19, every business in Whistler has stepped up its game to reduce the number of contacts and to ensure maximum safety indoors. The Blackcomb Springs Suites is no exception and has increased cleanliness protocols and follows every public health order for the safe operation of hotels. Masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces for all guests and staff members. Staff members are screened daily before starting work and our pool/hot tub area operates at a restricted capacity.  Our ski valet/storage now takes place outside.

Whistler Blackcomb has also introduced strict COVID-19 protocols to ensure that your bubble has an exclusive Gondola cabin or chairlift and masks are also mandatory in lift line ups. Mountain restaurants are open but require reservations and a better option may be to return to your suite and enjoy a lunch delivered to your door (and warm your feet by the fire!).
